Apple cloud?

Apple announced the iCloud today, or at least admitted it was working on a cloud idea. What it might involve is unclear - will it simply be iTunes in the cloud (SaaS), or some kind of cloud-hosted app environment (PaaS) or a fully-blown Amazon-style cloud-enabled cluster of servers running Mac OS X Server (IaaS)? Who knows, but it'll be interesting to watch and find out. It'll also be interesting to see what Amazon and Google respond with - once details are known.

Here's a link to a bit of background from the BBC and a bit more from Wired, and please note that this is not the same as the previous service by the same name offered by CloudMe.
